Can any recent students comment on the vegan options available on the UMass meal plan and in the town of Amherst? Thanks.
You’ll have quite a number of choices on campus and off. Amherst and the towns around it are quite vegan friendly, and the dining commons on campus tend to offer at least one vegan option per meal.

UMass Amherst dining is consistently in the top 3 nationally. Hampshire dining hall is focused on healthy eating. For example, no soda there, many many options for vegetarians and vegans, etc.
My daughter is a senior at UMass Amherst and one of her good friends is vegan. She has absolutely no problems finding plenty to eat. She eats a lot of her meals at Hampshire dining commons, which has a lot of organic foods and has absolutely everything labeled so she can tell exactly what is in the dish. It is supposedly one of the most vegan friendly campuses in the country.
@BostonMama, is Hampshire dining commons on the Hampshire College campus or on the UMass campus?
Hampshire is the name of one of the dining halls on the UMass Campus. Dining halls are named for counties within the state: Hampshire, Berkshire, Worcester, Franklin.
@MdgmMom as @MADad said above, Hampshire is the name of a UMass dining commons, which is located in the Southwest residential area of campus. It’s a pretty easy walk from central campus to Hampshire, and there is also a bus. The other dining commons also have several vegan options but my daughter’s friend finds Hampshire to have the most choices.
