lol, I love Hindoo's post!

For every animal you don't eat, I'm going to eat three.

Pass the panda-fried koala bear!

fine then... and that means you'll just die a LOT sooner... that's a lot of animals.

Yeah, true. Maybe I'll just kill them then.

Time for bed, kids.

Meat's just great unless you think about it too much. Those bacon burgers are just yummy chunks of dead, fatty, decomposing flesh jammed between two nutrition-free pieces of white bread.

Sounds tasty!

did anyone see fast food nation? I wanted to, but it didn't come to any theaters anywhere in the area.

"Sounds tasty!"

As disgusting as it sounds, millions, maybe billions of people eat it.

"As disgusting as it sounds, millions, maybe billions of people eat it."

Have you ever noticed how dogs and cats act when you have raw meat around them? They go nuts. They salivate and go wild for it. Give them a piece of raw meat and it is a major treat for them. They are obviously designed to eat meat because they have the sharp teeth for tearing into flesh, and they delight in devouring raw, bloody carcasses.

Do you feel the same way? Does the sight and smell of a bloody, freshly killed chicken excite you?

Humans must completely disguise dead animals to make them palatable - they must cook them and dress them up with lots of seasonings to hide the fact that they are in fact DEAD ANIMALS.

it's funny how the OP specified that discussion should be to a minimum....everyone did the exact opposite.

anyway, i'm for meat-eating. That's what meat is for. (not all meat of course).

^ haha yea.

I eat meat but i honestly can respect any view. I understand why people become vegetarians and I respect their views completely. I have thought about becoming a vegetarian many times, but it is really hard to when you don't cook your own food. I think that there are many veiws upon this.

it isn't a "your-wrong I'm-right" kinda thing.

so just get over it.

Here's a great site about meat-eating being 'natural' in the animal kingdom, along with other interesting 'natural' behaviors:

http://michaelbluejay.com/veg/natural.html

add me to the veggie list. there is absolutely no need to kill animals, especially in the manner used. i think if one sat down and watched a PETA video or two, their attitudes might change. or actually saw differences in the body in terms of cholesterol, heart health, etc.

-meatless for almost 12 years, and will stay that way forever.

Meat is freaking delicious. Vegetarianism is great—it leaves more steak for me!

huskem: 12 years! That's awesome!

apple: Is it really the meat you think is delicious, or the way it is prepared? Would you say plain meat with nothing on it, no seasonings, is delicious? Actually I think meat is rather bland. You really have to spice it up to make it APPEAR edible.

I routinely make such dishes as lasagne, enchiladas, chili, burgers, and lots of other meals that are typically regarded as heavy on the meat, but I make them vegetarian, and they have the same seasonings used in their meat counterparts, so even meat-eaters often don't even miss the meat. Sometimes they can barely even tell the difference!

It is a myth to think that vegetarians live on salads and celery sticks. You don't have to feel deprived or give up your favorite dishes to be vegetarian. (Though it is a bit more challenging to give up cheese. The vegan cheeses don't always satisfy. But I am referring to being vegetarian, meaning don't eat anything that once had a face. Lots of people are vegetarian without being vegan.) Nowadays lots of restaurants have veggie options. If you have an E-Z's in your area, try their veggie burger - you will be pleasantly surprised!

Actually, I don't need to add a lot of spices or whatnot to make meat taste good. Perfectly grilled steak with a bit of salt, or nicely broiled chicken breast with a little salt and lemon juice = delicious. Veggie burgers are ok, but they certainly can't compare to luscious, juicy ground beef with some crispy bacon on top ... mmmm. Ok, this is making me hungry. I think I'll go have some leftover Christmas turkey with cranberry sauce.

i was raised in a carnicentric (hey i love making up words!) family, and becoming a vegetarian was the best decision i ever made...

I like smell and sight of raw meat. Doctor, is there any chance? :o

By the way, last time I took biology class plants were part of life as well. Is it more fair to kill plants just because they are immovable?
Having said that, I have nothing against vegeterianism.

I completely agree. Junk/fast food is not good -- in fact, I don't see how anyone can eat it: my stomach reacts very unfriendly to hamburgers and I can't eat french fries at all (too much fat). However, meat should not be associated with fastfood.

Where should I sign?

Personally, I don't think there is anything wrong with vegetarianism. However, I eat meat, and feel there is nothing wrong with it. As long as no one attempts to tell me that meat-eating is unnatural, I'll be fine.

And I agree with with Mr. Chipset, it isn't a right-wrong thing, even though some people try to make it that way.
