verbal 540 Math 800 .. too big of gap.

Whats going to happen?

i kno its bad to have such a big gap between math and verbal

but would my Math 800 somehow help?

I came to this country 5 years ago and obviously i didnt do tat well

in verbal.. please give me some advices

I'm almost in the same boat as you (-20 in math)

hahaha lets hope somethign comes up

what college you thinking of?

do you have time to take it again? you can try studying, usually it's easier to improve if your score is low. Do a lot of exercises, reading, etc. You'll probably go into a math/science field though, perhaps engineering? so it'll matter less there.

yea i studied verbal alot... i didnt even study for math .. i got tutors and stuff for verbal went up 10 points -.-; i was getting 600s but not on this test i guess.. well i am thinking about taking this again in december .. but im applying ED cornell even though i dun have chance

I think they'll be understanding since you haven't been in this country for that long.

i hope so lol

Same problem here....I have 670 Math --------470 Verbal

Non native...came here 4 yrs. ago..

MAN IVE BEEN HERE SINCE I WAS A BABY AND MAN....I GOT 800 MATH AND 500 VERBAL....god i cant do the verbal...and im not retaking it....

I'm taking it a 4th time... I'm psycho, but I believe a 1500 is still very possible... just gotta stop coming on CC so damn much.

Sean, same here. Only 780 mathand 640 verbal:( I'm ABC.

damn,,,i got 320V and 700M..
screwed,,

why is verbal so ****ing complicated? you have to spend ages learning all the stupid words

I have the opposite problem - verbal is 60 points higher than math. GRRR!!! SAT MATH shakes fist

I have the same problem in Verbal, 480, while my math is 760. However, I believe I can make some improvement in Verbal in two month. Maybe an improvement of 100.

go to sparknotes.com and for $30 you can practice shorter versions of SAT 1's and 2's for one year

I've always been much stronger in verbal then in math. But just recently I've realized how easy math is if you're only careful when reading the questions. Verbal can be easy too, but it takes alot more work. I feel really bad for people who are stronger in math. Because while I honestly believe someone could go from a 480 math to a 750+ math, the same is simply not true in verbal without a significant amount of time elapsing. I wish the best to all of you.

Thanks obilisk, you give me hope!
