Bummed about scores...

The first time I took the SATs, I got 800M and 650V. I took them again and got 710M and 680V. =/ I'm bummed because my math went really low, and verbal only increased by 30 points (but at least it increased).

My question is that will colleges wonder what in the world happened to my math score since it dramatically decreased by almost 100 points?

honestly, an 800 is a great feat. no one in their right mind would expect you to do it twice. the difference between a 710 and an 800 is only about 5 questions anyway. don't worry about it.

Yeah, they might just understand that you dropped the math side and concentrated on the verbal.

In some cases, a clerk will record your highest scores and that is all the adcoms will see.

Is 30 points higher on the verbal good? Or is that like, one question difference. o_x

it's substantial, you should be happy. Stop comparing yourself to these people, you're fine

Arrghh... same here

last time : 800 Math 620 Verbal
This time : 750 Math 660 Verbal
wtf? lol....

I think this might have been an unusually hard test... I say that because my 750M was 98th percentile, which means... err, I'm not sure what it means but I'm hoping it means it was hard. That'll make me feel better.

I have the same problem.
in may, 780M and 690V
in november 720M and 770V

will adcoms (say HPSM, Cornell, Chicago) see a 1470 and 1490, or the average (1480) or a kid who was able to get a 1550? I am elated with my 80pt verbal jump, but disheartened because my Math dropped. Any help?

they use the highest, so 1550. :)
