Verbal.

Whats a good online website that can help me study for the vocabulary im going to see on the SSAT. Im good on the math and reading im really just looking for a website like freerice.com or something to help me with my vocabulary. Im just worried because what if the words from the SSAT book dont appear on the test? and i am tired of making flash cards. Wheres a website that has words that are close to the ones on the ssat? please as many sites as possible.

Also when a school says Jan. 15th is the deadline do they mean they want the application by then or like what do they mean by jan 15th?

just do a google search for ‘ssat common words’ and you should get a decent site. freerice can help you with guessing techniques. and even if the words you study for do not appear on the test, at least you feel like you prepared and you won’t be nervous on the test. and i think flash cards are the best way to learn words. its boring, but they’re easy to use for reviewing (if you don’t review words, you’ll forget them)

all the application stuff should be due by january 15. essays, test scores, recommendations, transcripts, graded essays, etc.
but i suggest you hand stuff in earlier in case something goes wrong.
however if you can’t get teacher recs/transcripts in by january 15, it should be okay…

like be at the acadamy by jan 15th or mailed on jan 15th?

uh probably be at the academy (as in they receive it before jan 15)

so you should probably be thinking about mailing them soon, since it takes a while for mail to get to its destination… but i think most admissions offices are closed now for winter break, and they don’t get back until jan 5 or something.

That depends…some schools will say postmarked by Jan. 15; others are vaguer. Just to be safe, we used 2-day mail and got everything to schools by Jan. 15.

Keep copies. Even if it’s filed online, print out a copy for your files.

You can request a return receipt, but I’m not sure how useful that is. If a school misplaces your file, it doesn’t matter if you can prove the school received it.
