VERSION 1-CR Discussion- Proessor and Caribbean/Creole Passage test

karatekid666

the contradiction is about how the family is consisted of husband, wife, etc, but it is anomaly? and the question was like what does it show?

Hard sentence completion answers

glut, distinctive. advertising companies need to make distinctive ads to set itself apart from the glut/excess of ads

camouflage…criticisms. women camoflauged their political criticism as satire so they wouldn’t be censored

pernicious. don’t remember sentence, was looking for synonym for harmful, though

milieu. first section, don’t really remember the sentence, but was looking for a word that referred to surrounding/culture

loquacious/refractory. hard to quiet down the unruly kids

nemesis. the two tried to stymie each other

sanguine. cheerful/optimistic about prospects of company, since employees learned well

Ohh that one was tough…

It was choice between something “like negative effects of social criticism” and “indication of the need for reassessment”…

@Niquii77
wasn’t the how many points on a graph does f(x) = x=y = 2?
it crossed at quadrant 1 and it also crossed somewhere down in quadrant 3.

i put x = y intersected twice once at 1,1 and at another place in the negative quadrant like -4.something, -4.something?

@thnkprnctn Yea I got 2 points as well. They almost tricked by bolding some points.

IGOTANN 800 What is the milieu one?

Karatedid666, yeah, I was stuck on that one.

Also, for nepotism passage, is there one about confusing?

My graph didnt go into the III and IV quadrant. Well it did but it was at (-6,-5).

@karatekid666 I put negative effects of social criticism. Nowhere in the passage did it advocate reassessment, it only lamented the negative effects of social criticism in the current cultural identity crisis/paradox

Asiansadness… It was only one point… The point in the third quadrant was (-3,-2.5) they were trying to trick ya guys

and is the last one on creole language, something Vs insidious?

@Lauratwilight I don’t quite remember the milieu one, but it was the last sentence completion on the first reading section.

I vaguely remember putting confusing, also

That’s what I put Igotan800!!!

also, for the one math prob about quotient? what you guys get? like 4?

the line would have to cross two points…
it would of went through the downward part of the line somewhere in there there would be a decimal which equaled another decimal like 4.something, 4.something beause it intersected i drew the line and it worked.

@Lauratwilight I didn’t put insidious. IMO this was probably the hardest writing problem on the test.

It asked for the author’s distinction between the colonial and new ages in the ending paragraphs. I put something…dependency/unfettered autonomy. Having doubts now

Bhbp,

Are you sure they didn’t specify that it had to cross at a bolded point?

is there a one about crony? I was debating between crony and another one on the last sentence completion, and I picked the other one…now i dont remember what it is
Also, yeah, for the docile one?

@Igotan800 yes I put dependency autonomy as welllllllllllllllllll and I got negative effect of social criticismmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm high five buddy

@Laura It was four. You’re correct. 21/5 equals 4.2 which means the answer would be 4.

It would have to be at a bolder point or at a letter. Why wouldn’t the places where x=y be a bolder point or at a letter?
