I know I'm an idiot, I know I'm a moron who's ruined the wait list. Long story short, I'm taking a gap year. The problem? I've double deferred from two schools that I really like, one an Ivy League, because for the longest time I simply could not decide. But now I have. Both don't allow for applying to other schools in their deferral contracts. My question is, how do I pull out of one?

The one you pull out of, you approach very humbly and asking for forgiveness. But you do so right away so they can adjust their matriculation projections. And you better hope the Ivy doesn’t find out.

You’re an adult. You really need to act like one and take responsibility for your actions, to be blunt.

Any more suggestions? bump

Well, I agree with T. But if you don’t, then fake a death certificate to send to the one you do not want to go to, along with a letter from your parents expaining that you will not be attending because of your death. But T’s idea was much more appropriate.

Aren’t you still in the same position that you were in on May 1? How does your family feel about losing two deposits instead of one?

Well I paid for both, so not too bad
