I REALLY APPRECIATE ANY ADVICE!

U of Rochester, Brandeis, U of Chicago, Washington and Lee, Colgate, Middlebury, Macalaster, Colby, Franklin and Marshall, Hamilton, Colorado Coll, Williams

possible proximity to rock climbing at Colorado Coll, Colby, Hamilton, Colgate, Middlebury, Williams

I think the following tend to be more conservative/Republican relative to other colleges: Colgate, Hamilton, Middlebury, Williams, Washington and Lee

Did I reply somewhere else? Or did I just think I did?

Dartmouth- reach
Brown- reach
Wellesley- less of a reach, but still one
Rice- reach
Cornell- less of a reach
Emory- match/reach?
Hopkins- match
W+M- match
Chicago- match?
Vassar- match
Davidson- don't know it
Carleton- don't know it
Wesleyan- less of a reach
Bowdoin- match/reach
Colby- match/reach
Middlebury- reach
Carnegie Mellon- match/reach

Here's how I group them in my mind:
Small & Preppy: Middlebury, Colby, Bowdoin, Wesleyan, Emory, Wellesly, Wm and Mary
Bigger but prestigious: Carnegie Melon, Chicago
More Liberal/Diverse: Rice, Dartmouth, Brown

As you see, you've got a lot of preppy schools. If that's what you want, I would cut back on the others. If that's not what you want, cut back on the upper middle class white type campuses (Middlebury, Emory, Wm and Mary). Not that that's a bad thing--you'll be surrounded by motivated people, just be aware of that.

I think Williams is very liberal...?

I too am graduating in 3 years and it's nice to see someone on the same track.

Williams fits under "preppy" to me. But again, preppy isn't necessarily bad. It enhances the college experience for a lot of people.

Thanks so much to everyone.....I'm not really looking for "preppy" but I'd deal with if I could get a really rigourous academic experience.

.....j'ai besoin d'assistance!
