VERY IMPORTANT need your help

Hey all,

I'm in a bit of a dilema. I'm faced with the decision of whether to take a Functional Human Anatmoy Lab course (3cr) or a General Genetics course (3cr). I would love to take Anatomy and I plan on taking it before I graduate, but the problem is that you have to dedicate A LOT of time to class. The professor is very good and he teaches it like any professional program would teach it, so he expects a lot out of his students.

These are the two possible set-ups.
Organic Chemistry I (4cr)
Calculus I (5cr)
Physics 101 (4cr)
Functional Human Anatomy (3cr)

or

Organic Chemistry I (4cr)

General Genetics (3cr)

The earlies I would be able to take the anatomy course would be spring of my Junior year, because I plan on taking a more difficult Physics series. What do you think? Should I take anatomy now? Will this Functional Human Anatomy course serve any use on the MCAT (I know the breakdown of the sections)? Will it hurt me in any way if I were to wait and take it possibly after I apply to med school? Will med schools care? Thanks guys.

El Sol

. . . anybody?

I would think that Anatomy is more useful than Genetics in preparing for the MCAT.

I was also told not to take too many genetics classes to prepare for med school. (Generally, they're easier but the material is not as pertinent)

Either way, I would pick what you're interested in. The material you learn in Anatomy would probably be covered in two days at med school!

Take the genetics course. The info in genetics, to my knowledge, is more fundamental for the MCAT.
