I am about to submit my application for UC's and i get this message:

"You have indicated that you are applying as a Junior -level transfer applicant. The number of units you've reported (56 semester units/ 84 quarter units) does not meet the minimum required for the level you selected. The minimum number of units required for your level is 60 semester units/ 90 quarter units"

However, on the "test results" section of the application, i indicate that i have passed the AP chemistry exam with a 3.

Shouldn't my AP exam grant me 5.3 semester units (8 quarter units) , bringing my total to 61.3/82?

Should i turn in my app anyway, assuming that they would add this automatically? Or should I mention all of this in the "additional comments" portion of the application?

Go to your college’s website and look for a pdf that describes how many units each ap test will give you for your major. After you are absolutely sure that you get 4+ units for chemistry w/ a 3 you can submit your application (w/o an additional comment but if you want you can add it).

My concern is that error message. Will they look at my app and add my AP credits to my 56 units, or will they first see that i am short units and disregard my app?

I submitted mine yesterday and I got the same msg. I am sure that I have about 20 semester units from APs so I only have about 50 units from actual college course work. I just clicked “yes” on that msg… i didn’t think too much about it… now I am nervous:(
Are we supposed to explain it in the additional comment section?

hey i got this same message mine is 39 but have 21 from AP’s talked to some people the site isnt intelligent enough to calculate the AP scores for each different school so your OK dont worry the schools you sent your app will see your AP’s and add it together

I don’t mean to highjack this thread, but can you choose not to include your AP grades? I mean, if they don’t ask for your high school grades just where you went to high school, why would they care about your AP grades unless you choose to put them

Andrizzle, I could be wrong, but I don’t think you need to indicate your AP grades unless you want to. They just need the name of the high school you attended and the dates of attendance.

^if you don’t have 60 semester/90 quarter units (TOTAL, including AP’s) then for sure you don’t meet the MINIMUM requirement for transfer. But if you meet the requirement including your APs then you’re fine.

i mean shouldnt i have over 70 credits why is the application giving me that message. someone said that the app cant count ap scores for all the UC schools etc.
