SO i recently applied to SMG because i am extremely passionate about business and i obviously want to pursue a career in business. However i am worried and hopefully someone can help calm me. I applied with mediocre stats, however my GPA is significantly above the average GPA for CGS students and my ACT score is right now the dot of average. I am not to confident about getting into SMG however BU is one of my loves and i would still be happy in CGS… so lets get to the point or my question

Since i applied to SMG rather than CGS did i just screw myself in having a chance at SMG or (oh please) do people who apply to another college besides CGS have the exact same chance of getting into CGS???

I don't understand at all what you are asking. Why would applying to SMG hurt your chances of getting into SMG? WOuldn't one presumably have to apply to SMG to have any chance at all? I won't try and figure out your question. I'll just give you some info. If you don't get into the school you apply to, you are automatically considered for admission into CGS, regardless of which school you applied to. Hopefully this answers your question.

They can certainly make a difference. Keep in mind, even if you are deferred from SMG to CGS you have a good shot of getting in. My SATs and GPA weren't bad, but I honestly believe it was my essay that got me into my 'reach' schools. So yes, I think it matters, but how much probably depends on the school.

cool cool thanks for you post. Yeah i said that because on collegeboard.com it says under IMPORTANT not just considered: essays and recs. So i hope they count them for a lot and look highly upon them.
