So, I know CGS is the easiest way to get into BU. But, I know I want to major in marketing for the last two years of college. So should I apply to SMG or CGS or CAS? I’m just afraid I will get rejected if I apply for SMG. WHAT SHOULD I DO!!!

Here are my stats.

Never apply to CGS if you already know what you want to do. True, you might get in, but think of the financial difficulties you may face in the future (keep in mind that BU is a very expensive school) all for taking core classes that could very easily be fulfilled through summer classes and APs.

If you have a passion - please do yourself a favor and pursue it. What if you don’t get in? If you don’t get in than go to another university where you can do what you know you love. After a year, transfer to BU.

Honestly, I don’t think you have anything to worry about. Your one weakness are your test scores, in which the weakest point is the SAT, which is due to a low writing grade (which is hardly looked at might I add). Maybe raise your lit SAT II grade? Or maybe take the ACT and see how you fair (since taking the ACT means you don’t need to send in any SAT IIs at all).

Good luck!

Thanks Theman777,
I don’t think I’ll be able to take the SAT2 LIT again, it’s to late now…and my ACT score is not very pleasant either, I only got a 25. <shame>. But, thanks for the advice.</shame>

if u know what u want then do NOT apply directly to cgs!! if youre not smg material they’ll put u in the pool for cgs admission.

oh…really? So, does that mean I will be automatically considered for CGS if I don’t make into SMG?
