Very urgent!! Is my life ruined because of a stupid mistake?

Ok so I sent in my enrollment deposit to Elon University about a week before May 1st. After going through papers on my desk, I just realized a few minutes ago, however, that I never signed and handed in my scholarship/aid papers which said due by May 1st. They say return on or before May 1st, this scholarship offer is valid until May 1, after that day, the offer may or may not be valid, depending upon the availability of funds. Am i screwed? Have I lost everything?? I am completely freaking out right now i am sooo stupid!!!!!!!!!!!!!! my stomach feels like a huge bottomless pit, i CANT BELIEVE i forgot about this! what can be done??

Almost surely you are perfectly OK, just call them Monday and verify

I'm pretty sure you're alright. It's only May 3rd or 4th or something...
Just call them or something

thanks for the positive responses guys, but i still think i lost everything. i'm going to email some people today and have my parents call them early monday morning - and i'll call after school if need be.

don't want to give you false hope but if there's one thing i've realized about college admissions it's that there are no real deadlines. if the college wants you to attend they will bend any restraint that they have placed on themselves. (ex: I just got an email a couple weeks ago saying there was still time to apply to a college, even though their posted date was Jan. 1)

Please don't spend all weekend obsessing about this (easier said than done, I know). The odds are in your favor that all will be well. You did tell Elon you'd be attending ... I am betting they figure you'll take the scholarship! I would email this weekend & follow up with a call first thing Monday. Best of luck.

Yes contact them Monday.

My daughter had forgotten to accept 2 parts of her financial aid (Perkins and WS) and her school emailed her and told her that if she did not accept by My 9th it would be taken away. But they gave her about 10 days notice. Hers she is able to accept/decline online - is there any option like that at your school?

you're right kelsmom, and at least i remembered to send in my enrollment deposit by may 1st! haha And swimcatsmom, on their online financial aid thing, to the right of the award it said accepted, but you couldn't accept/decline them on the website - only in paper.

Hopefully you are ok if it says accepted on the web site. But call Monday to be safe. Good luck and keep us posted.

We realized we'd done the same thing, but thankfully on April 29th. Called the Financial Aid office to see if we needed to overnight it. They said no problem, regular mail was fine. Point: They didn't seem wound up about it getting there May 1st. I think you are fine. Of course, seeming very concerned when you call is probably a good thing :-)
