Very worried about paying for college UB

I'm a former CUNY student transferring to SUNY Buffalo. I want to major in OT.

I'm very worried how I'm going to pay for it. I'm gonna take loans but the loans they offered me for the spring semester isn't enough to cover everything so my parents have to pay a portion. I'm also living in offcampus housing to save money on dorming.

My parents make a total income of around $76000 approx. So we don't get a lot of financial aid. So far my only grant was $250 from TAP. The loans they offered me was around $2200 which is not enough to cover tuition.

I feel really guilty for my parents paying my tuition and housing. I'm very worried about how I'm going to pay for UB. Their OT program is a BS/MS program so it's a five year program.

How am I going to afford tuition?? It may seem a lot cheaper compared to privates but my family isn't well off enough to pay for college without it affecting them financially.

You need to discuss this situation with your parents. They may be fine with the cost because they know that you will have a better future. A lot of us have to tighten out belts when our kids are in college.

How easy will it be for you to find a part-time job on or off campus? If you can work during the school year and during vacations, you will be able to cover more of your costs. You also should speak with the financial aid office and with your department about the fifth year of your program. Will you be classified as a grad student of that year? If so, you will be able to borrow more for that last year because the limits for grad school are much higher.

My dad thinks I should go and not to worry about the money and my mom thinks I should stay to save money. :/
