Veteran wanting to take summer classes

I just finished serving our country in Afghanistan. Now I want to take some classes, improve my GPA and get into one of the top universities for graduate study.

I am looking for a university that
1) has low summer tuition for non-residents (I am a resident of Alaska, so chances are I will likely be a nonresident whichever university you recommend)
2) is a university that is either an elite research university or has a very highly respected brand name.

Any suggestions? Thank you!!!!!

Veteranr,
Thanks for serving, we all are endebted.
We can probably help more if you say where you live now and where you might be considered a state resident… also, what you intend to study.
Without more info, I do know that the UW in Seattle opens up lots of classes to Non-enrolled students as space allows in the summer.

I am willing to move anywhere. I just got back after a longish stint and don’t have a home. My legal residence is Alaska but I want to move out of Alaska. So anywhere is fine as long as the university

 1. has low summer tuition for nonresidents
 2. is a university that is either an elite research university or has a very highly respected brand name.

And I eventually intend to pursue a Ph.D. in Biochemistry.

University of New Mexico might be an option

Classes are $252/credit for state residents.

Top students do matriculate into top programs.

There are many colleges that offer in-state tuition rates to veterans (OH being one state).
