Video Game Design and Development - RPI, RIT, WPI, and UC Irvine

I have been accepted into RPI, WPI, RIT, and UC Irvine. They all have video game design and development majors except UC Irvine. UC Irvine has a computer game design and development major and connections with Blizzard. Some of the computer science students there get internships and jobs from Blizzard.
RPI was ranked number 5 nationally for video game design and development while WPI was ranked 7 nationally.
I do not know RIT's ranking, but I heard their program is outstanding.
I visited UC Irvine and loved it. However, I am going to visit RPI, WPI, and RIT.

I need help with deciding which college to go to for major and student body wise.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Computer science is a better major than game design, in the event that you change your mind later on (and I wouldn’t rule it out. I was once in the same position, but later grew tired of games.)

Also, make sure you are into programming video games, not designing them, as comp sci will be all programming.

I live and go to high school in Irvine. If you want to move to a place where absolutely NOTHING goes on, sure… but if you’re looking for a fun place don’t choose Irvine.

Strictly my personal view… but the parties here suck, nothing to do… you have to go to LA or Newport whenever you want to do anything.

I am not sure whether I want to design or program video games yet, so I still want to do video game design and development to figure out what my passion career is.

I lived in LA my entire life. I do not drink or do drugs at all, so I really do not mind the absence of parties. As long as there is homecoming and prom, I will be okay. =)

I don’t know anything about the field, or about most of these schools, but my nephew is in the Game Design program at RIT and thinks it’s wonderful. He’s very challenged academically and really loves his courses; also, the school has arranged great internship opportunities.

Have thought about coming to beautiful Orlando for FIEA? [Florida Interactive Entertainment Academy ? UCF’s Graduate Video Game Design & Development School](http://www.fiea.ucf.edu/joomla/) its a graduate Video game school Tied to UCF that has a 95% job placement rate.
