I have gotten into the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor and the University of Notre Dame so far.

@Gooder - Don’t feel too bad, you’re in the same boat as many other students who were deferred today. With the advent of the Common App making it super easy for students to apply to an incredible number of schools with just a click, many schools worry about offering a spot to strong EA students with very high stats fearing that they will be used as a safety school - which in turn lowers their yield if that student winds up accepting at another school.

I guess the feeling is that if those students with great stats were truly interested, they would have applied ED instead of EA. My son’s situation is similar, and he was disappointed too. I’m sure it will all work out

Good luck to everyone who was deferred to RD!

@ProAssassin Restrictive Early Action only means that you are not able to apply to another school ED, no restriction on the ability to apply to other schools EA.

@crazy43 Oh, well that sucks. I only didn’t apply there EA because I thought that I then couldn’t apply to other schools EA. Now I have to wait until March to hear back from them. Feels bad ?
