I agree with you there, it will be an anomaly.
Has anyone heard anything about the presidential scholarship? The notification deadline is today.
not yet
I have not, I didnāt know that was an option. I will probably wait until at least tomorrow morning before contacting them.
hopefully theyāll end up coming out before the end of the night its hard to keep waiting hahah
I think itās premature to say what the admitted student score range is. The range from above is for EA admittees, which would be expected to be higher. The RD admissions would likely lower that. This is not to say there wonāt be some inflation due to virtually all schools being test optional, but itād very early to be quoting stats for classes that are not yet fully formed.
@KeystoneState64 and doing that, is it aligned with their mission and values?
Things that make you say hmmmm

Iām surprised I got in cause I super last minute applied (like wrote my essays in three hours and submitted on the day of the deadline). Excited but also money is going to be the biggest factor. Hoping for scholarships or financial aid.
Sorry to hear about Villanova but Northeasternās a great school.
same. still waiting on the $$$
I was not selected as a finalist :(((
I donāt think Villanova aid is the best from what Iāve heard.
Update:
Yes it is possible!!!
It happened to me!!!
What does this meaannn???
Talking about getting deferred but being a finalist
Yay good luck in the scholarship competition and RD!!
I wasnāt really thinking about it from the mission/values perspective. Iām thinking of it more from the yield perspective. I just wonder if this group of high test score students will actually accept admission. These high test scorers will have a ton of options. Itāll be interesting to see the admitted student profile when itās all said and done.
It just seems like the student population that Villanova has historically had success with - kids averaging a high 1300 SAT - was really left behind this year. Consider the last 3 years of SAT data in Villanovaās Common Data Set. The midpoint SAT for these 3 years for enrolled students is 1395 (2019-2020); 1385 (2018-2019); and 1360 (2017-2018).
If the score range posted in the chain above for this yearās acceptances is accurate, it just seems like the applicants in Villanovaās sweet spot (high 1300s) who chose to submit scores this year got left behind in favor of much higher test scores (who historically havenāt yielded as well for the school) + test optional admittances.
Thereās still RD to go so of course things could change.

Decision: Deferred
State/Country: PA
GPA: 3.93 Unweighted / 4.31 Weighted
SAT/ACT: 1390 / 31 (one sitting)
School/Major: Business
4 year varsity athlete, many other ECs
Without merit money itās not going to happen at Villanova anyway and looking like merit money is not likely being deferred.
