I am stuck between Westmont College, a small Christian liberal arts school in Santa Barbara, CA, and Villanova. One of the most attractive things about Westmont is that I won't have to worry about all my friends going off and partying all the time. I have grown to loathe that sort of thing, and though I accept and still love my friends that do it, I would love even more to find friends who don't need that sort of thing to have fun. Are there a lot of people like this at Villanova? I'm a very social guy and I don't want to be without friends, but I also don't want to have to sacrifice my morals to make them.

I don’t know if you have heard it before, but Villanova has been labeled as Villanofun before. While this seems completely inaccurate in my opinion, Villanova is not like many state schools. I would say the majority of students do go out partying, there are many that do not. Whether you want to party or don’t, there are people doing both, you just have to find them. There are so many things to do just around campus and philly that you won’t be bored. Westmont probably does have a higher percentage that do not party, but you will find plenty of those people at Nova.

That’s what I am hoping for. To be honest I am a bit concerned because I have always been one of the “popular” kids and enjoy hanging out with people who are cool and outgoing. I just hope that not all of those people are the partiers.

I would imagine your idea of cool and outgoing would be different from many students at villanova. While many on campus would consider frat guys to be cool and outgoing I would imagine you would find them socially immature, or something alon those lines. With that said, you would gravitate more towards those students who are intellectually outgoing and while not hilariously fun, they will be socially acceptable to your standards…also I think the least entertaining student at villanova who doesnt party or drink would still be considered fun compared to students at westmont.
