Villanova Pre-Med

Hey guys,
I'm goin to 'Nova next year for Pre-med. All my life I have wanted to be a doctor and I really want to go to 'Nova. However, I haven't heard outstanding things about Villanova's Premed program. I know that Villanova's business school and engineering school is very good, but are my chances at med school diminished because I'm going to 'Nova for med school....

And while I'm addressing the question, does it really matter what undergraduate school you go to as long as you get good grades and do well on the MCAT's? Everyone at my high school now is stressing how important a good pre med program is and how great their college is in pre med, and I'm starting to get stressed.

I still think it is up to the student whether or not they get to go to med school...not the college...

Anyway, if you guys could lend your opinion on Villanova's Pre Med program, that'd be great. Thanks so much

Thanks goldshadow, but as helpful as those are, it doesn’t truly deal with Villanova’s Pre med program. I’m asking you guys from personal experience. Villanova is a prestigious school in my eyes; mostly everyone has heard about it…so in my opinion it’s the same as getting a degree from any other prestigious private school.

Another thing to bring up is this…let’s compare Villanova to JHU for pre med. Although JHU is absolutely fantastic in that department, a student there is going to have an incredibly difficult time maintaining a decent class rank among ridiculously smart students, whereas a smart student from Villanova will shine among his fellow students.

So, what do you think is better?? Big fish in a small pond or small fish in a big pond???
