As a parent of Catholic School kids and a graduate of Catholic Schools, i should be offended by Justin’s comments but - you know - it’s kind of funny - Catholic bashing. It’s been around for 1000s of years. good luck to all the kids applying for Prez scholarship or otherwise, may God and St. Augustine bless them all!

Great posts wildcat92, and thank you for sharing with us a Presidential Scholar’s perspective.

Good luck to this year’s applicants. I’m sure the Committee will be impressed by all of you!

I would like to say to all of the finalists heading to campus – your hosts are just as excited as you are. Don’t stress too much. They really want to see you have a good time while you are there. So whatever you do, take them up on it – have fun, enjoy yourself, get know some people. They are not going to put you through an intensely competitive experience - they already know you’re brilliant; that’s why they’ve invited you. They are simply looking to know you better and give you a chance to see what they’re about as well. Good luck!

Thanks FLVADAD…this mom is a bit nervous. My son drove himself and he seemed very excited:) Is your child one of the presidental scholars hosting the finalists?

Anyone hear anything yet???

Does anyone know how the students will be notified? Will it be on the site, by phone or by mail? Was anyone given any indication as to the timing? All info is very much appreciated:)

Last year notifications were posted on the site. I dont remember the day but im pretty sure it was Tues or Wed following the visit.I also remember it was around dinner time, but clearly thats not the case this year if no one has heard yet. Good Luck!!

as of today, Thurs. we have not heard anything by e-mail or MyNova. we are away from home so don’t know about phone calls. If anyone hears anything an update would be appreciated.

My son was notified on the mynova site…he got it!!! We are so excited for him:) He has spoken to others that he met last week and they were all notified on the site…even if they didn’t get it. Good luck to all of you!!!

C-o-n-g-r-a-t-s!!! :)

Congrats to him!!

My D is currently a presenditial scholarship recipient at Villanova. She also had very impressive stats including NMF status. She turned down several Ivy acceptances, including Harvard as well as several other presenditial scholarships.I am happy to say that she loves Villanova and is being academically challenged. She found many interesting service opportunities and clubs to join and is so happy with her choice. My only complaint is that she rarely comes home because there is so much to do on campus.Villanova has alot to offer if you want it. Good Luck1

AreWeDoneYet: CONGRATULATIONS to your son and your family!!!

Thank you all so much!! We are very excited and my son said he is definitley going. We couldn’t be happier for him. When we were there last week, we were all very impressed, not only with the school, but with the students. These kids could not have been any nicer. My son said that everyone he had met was great. He has been in touch with many of them throughout the week. The only thing he is upset about is that he has to wait until August to go!!!

where were your decisions about the scholarship posted?

??
Can someone please answer this

They were posted on the my nova site on 2/24…hope that helps.

the villanova presidential scholarship acceptance letter says to write an acceptance letter in response saying that you are accepting the villanova scholarship…anyone that has done this in the past, what did you include in the letter? what did you talk about? or how long was it? please answerrr! :)

They simply want a yes or no. Just a quick note thanking them for the scholarship and letting them know you are excited to attend is all you need to do.
