<p>Nope, no finalists here. They must give substantial weight to the EC and written application, because he has 4.0 unweighted GPA and 1600 SATs. We have other options, but are sorry to close this door. Congrats to the finalists. You must be a truly impressive group!</p>
<p>We found out the notification on MyNova - left upper corner - you have a personal message regarding presidential scholarship —click the link—then there is a letter popped up.</p>
<p>My D was not selected as a finalist, as I previously posted. I did not see the actual message on MyNova, but her interpretation was that there were only 18 finalists, meaning there would only be about 9 awards given this year. Did anyone else interpret it that way? If the word finalist was used, then those are the ones invited to interview for the awards.</p>
<p>As others have mentioned, I believe around 50 students are invited to the 3 day “event”. After that, about 18 get the full scholarship, with all the others getting about a $12.5k scholarship.</p>
<p>alb93dad, Last year we were told that the minimum that the finalists would get would be $12.5. Most of them received closer to $25,000. Hopefully, that did not change.</p>

<p>My D missed their call yesterday and cannot get in touch with Villanova today. Does any one know when will the program end on Friday? We have some schedule issue.</p>

<p>We had no idea a trip was involved… In our case we live a significant distance away (overseas) so it will be long and expensive… (nothing compared to the value of a scholarship, so she’ll be there !) </p>
<p>But surprised to get a trip requirement on this relatively short notice…</p>

<p>I don’t wanna sound all bitter that I didn’t get it, but I thought they could have at least sent out an email. I logged in to check to see if my financial aid went through, and it was a little message in the top left corner. I feel like with such a big scholarship they could notify you without having to log onto MyNova.</p>
<p>Anyone have any experiences to share? I’m so pumped; I can’t really contain my excitement!</p>
