I have my deposit in at university of miami and I just got a phone call from villanova saying I'm accepted off the waitlist. I'm doing premed so i was looking for opinions regarding premed at umiami vs premed at villanova

Bump help!

I really don’t know much about premed at Miami, but I know a decent amount of people doing premed at Nova. The program is good, but it is a lot of work. If you have any specific questions, please ask.

You probably need to make a decision soon…and I have been in a similar boat.

uMiami has a med school, so it will probably offer more medical/scientific research than nova.

Villanova overall is stronger than Miami, but pre-med is not villanova’s strongest area but rather business.

Both reside near large urban areas and will allow u to do volunteer work. Both pre-med programs are going to be a lot of work. That is just the way pre-med is.

Both will offer about the same academic caliber for the sciences. You can definietly get accepted to med school from them as long as your gpa is strong (3.6 or above) and your mcat score is good (above 30). I do not want to sound negative, but you probably will not get into harvard med from nova or miami. (I know a few students from nova who have attended penn med, which is ranked #2, in the last ten years, but that is not saying too much.)

Because they are similar enough, it is just a toss up and the social life should determine the rest. Good luck
