VILLANOVA WAITLIST

I don’t know what Villanova was looking for? My wife got her Masters in Engineering from Villanova, My older daughter graduated in 2015 from Villanova. She was a very good student. My youngest daughter was put on the waitlist. She had a 1925 SAT and a 4.4+ GPA (one of only 9 students in a Class of 391 to have eclipsed the 4.4 GPA Mark). Calculus Student Award, Chemistry Student Award, an athlete, volunteered for various community organizations including an Animal Shelter and Recreation Department, German Club President, NHS member among other things. She will have 25 AP Credits going into her Freshman Year, will probably graduate in 3 years. I am extremely disappointed and searching for answers. I’m assuming the SAT score could have been higher???

@dozarks33 I really can’t shed any light on your daughter being wait listed. She seems like a strong applicant. What school did she apply to? VSB? CLAS? If VSB, it’s off the hook competitive right now. I think over 2000 on SAT or 31 or 32 on ACT. I’ve been on college confidential reading all the stats for months and it seems like VSB is very tough to get into. Bloomberg ranking it #1 has made it even more so. Good luck to her! The college process is beyond stressful!

Just a foot note… When on campus I was speaking to an admissions counselor and I specifically asked about the wait list this year and she basically said to reserve a spot at another college. They had a high yield this year and may not go to wait list at all. Not sure if that is at all helpful but I wanted to relay the information I received first hand.

Thanks for replying. She is going to Penn State-University Park. Her Major is Chemistry, I would almost bet if she went in Undeclared she would have gotten in. It was aggravating because of our Family members who graduated from there and her desire to go there, plus her academics were off the chart. Yea that sub 2000 SAT probably did her in. That’s why that test is overrated. It may actually be a blessing, because it saved us probably $120,000. She got in to some bigger schools, Boston University and Northeastern. Some smaller schools Ursinus, Scranton U and a bunch others.
