On a strictly academic basis, which one of these has the better rep? Virginia Tech seems to be a relatively new wave, but it seems to be pretty popular among many people. I dont know about the honors at all, but I think these are the two schools Im gonna decide from in the end anyways.

Im really regretting not applying to some other schools to cover myself...

I think VaTech may have a better rep, but considering your instate for Ohio, I'd go with OSU because the difference is negligable.

I live in state in Virginia and have visited both campuses. It completely depends on what you want to do. Virginia Tech has a fantastic rep around these parts, and the engineering/business degrees are rising, rising in value. Admissions standards at VA Tech are rising as well.

Visit both campuses, make a decision for yourself.

Im visiting Virginia Tech next week and I visited OSU, but I doubt that I really saw very much of it. I didnt really even know how much of the campus I saw since it's so big. I liked it though, and the honors program seems nice.

OSU baby!! Ya, Ohio State is really trying to raise their student profile, so every year it is getting more and more progressively harder to get into their school. Ohio State really isnt a bad school that some would lead you to believe, in fact its great!

I know this, it's not really the academics that has me questioning it over VA Tech, I guess it's also the people and the atmosphere. I just dont know if it is really frat/sorority centered with cliquish groups, cause I don't know if that's what I want. I definitely need a great social life and I know it exists at both of these schools.
