I got accepted to both virginia tech and iit B.Arch programs and I got a 20,000 $ scholarship from iit. so the total cost of iit will be 35k and virginia tech will be 38k which are somehow the same and the money doesn't matter anymore.
I don't know which is better in every aspect like academic standards,location,dorms,...

These have both been strong programs though VT has received more recognition in the last 10 years. I can’t imagine more different college experiences. One of them is in a sketchy neighborhood in one of the great architecture cities in America. The other one is in a lovely part of rural Virginia. For graduate school I think it is important to be in a significant city, for undergraduate I’m not sure it matters nearly as much. I think you need to visit both schools and go on your instinct as to where you are going to be happier.

As a professor at IIT and having had two kids attend, the neighborhood is much less dangerous than people make it out to be. The IIT campus is well connected to the rest of the city by 2 elevated train lines and the campus is quite safe with the Chicago Police Headquarters next door. Being in Chicago means that the Studio Professors are from major architectural firms and that is a real plus. I agree though that you need to visit and decide for yourself.

Can I ask, what where your SATs and other stats. And BTW which one did you end up choosing? Thx!
