I’ve seen some girls mention already getting their Bryn Mawr account information. I never heard from admissions about a BMC account, and I can’t find a place on their website to create one. Should I be worried? Around when did you guys hear about your accounts?

I received a letter in the mail from the Admissions Office about two weeks after I submitted my application online for ED II, but my friend who also applied to Bryn Mawr (RD) received her letter regarding her BMC virtual account two weeks following the submission of her application as well.

If you haven’t received a letter regarding your Virtual Bryn Mawr account by now, then I suggest you call the admissions office, or e-mail their computing service office.

applybmc@brynmawr.edu

I’ve had mine for a while, but I also applied really early. It is where you can check if they relieved all of your application materials. If I remember correctly, I think the login info was emailed to me a while ago. You may want to email/call them to get your login info, because I think they may also put decisions up online.

Anon–if Adcoms ever update your Virtual Bryn Mawr account with a “accept/decline,” or even “view” financial aid award then it’s a clear sign that you’ve been accepted.

samedifference–having a virtual account helps, A LOT. Once accepted, you’ll see a congratulatory message from the Dean of Admissions, and a window to pay your down payment. So far, I’ve used the virtual account to check the status of FA receiving my FAFSA and CSS profile.

Only 2 more weeks to go! Best of luck to you gals! :)

cmk92 - i hope you are correct about the accept/decline fin aid because they? are now on my page!

I’m positive it means you’ve been accepted. Why else would they take the time to crunch out the numbers for your financial aid package? ;)

Catepillar14, if you’re accepted, which I’m POSITIVE that you are, then let me be the first to congratulate you on CC.

CONGRATULATIONS, Catepillar14!!!
Being a Mawrter never felt so good.

P.s. Don’t forget to join the BMC Class of '14 facebook group.

CMK92: What exactly do you mean by seeing accept/decline on the page. I didn’t apply for financial aid, so that won’t give me much of an indication.

I found out I was accepted early January through the Virtual BM account when I logged on one day, and saw (under the “Finances” heading): “view/decline awards.”

A few days later, you should see a message from the Dean of Admissions under the “Admissions” heading, congratulating you on your acceptance, and at the same time, telling you to save your spot by paying your down payment of $500 (which can be done by either clicking on the link below the message, or after you’ve received your official acceptance/FA letters in the mail–about a week wait).

I don’t suppose not applying for FA will. A few days after FA is updated on the virtual account comes the congratulatory message. So, perhaps that will tip you off then? Well, that, or perhaps someone from the admissions office will give you a call?

I hope this helps.

I have links that say “View Financial Aid” and “Accept/Decline Award” but when I click on them, they say “Award Access Denied.”

Anyone know what that means? I am sooooo ready to hear :)

It means you’ve been accepted. You should see either an “estimate” of your financial aid, or “final” financial aid package a few days after seeing the “View Financial Aid,” and “Accept/Decline Award” links.

I saw the same message two months ago.

Congratulations on your acceptance, txkate!

Wait, you heard over two months early? Thats crazy, but really lucky. Now I’ll be checking that page more often. Is it customary for them to post acceptances so early?

I found the letter from Bryn Mawr! When I log in, there’s “Accept/Decline Awards” and "View Financial Aid’ buttons, but when I try to click on them, all it says is “Award access not available.” I hope this is a good sign! :D

Does anyone not have the accept/decline awards button? If everyone has it, it probably means nothing. Bryn Mawr has a less than 50% acceptance rate.

Anon–As I’ve mentioned in previous posts in Bryn Mawr forum, I applied ED II (deadline: Jan. 1st), and heard back on the last tuesday of January.

I saw the “Accept/Decline Awards” button on my Virtual BM account a day before I saw the acceptance message under the “Admissions” heading, and a day before I received a call from Julie, the representative who reviewed my application. I considered the “Accept/Decline Awards” as an acceptance. However, nothing was set in stone until I received the call from the Admissions office at 4:13pm. Unfortunately, I was studying for Calculus with a group of friends after school, and missed the call. :(

However, I still have the voicemail. :)

Queen’s Mom–it could be nothing, but it wasn’t “nothing” for me. My logic behind this was: Why would BM even consider giving me money, if they were going to reject me? It seemed illogical at the moment.

I have had the “View/Accept” link on my page since the first day I logged in.

I wish that it meant that I am accepted, but I am not going to read into it - I’ve been heartbroken already by one school, and I’m not letting that happen again.

Yeah I have the two links as well – “Accept/Decline” and “View Financial Aid”. I don’t remember if I had them a few months ago… Would be veryyy nice if they meant something.

I don’t have those links yet, so its possible that it does mean something. Hopefully they’ll show up in the next week.

Like I said - i am not going to look to far into it.

I’m just anxiously awaiting my decision and in the meantime trying to not lose my mind. :D

I have another question about the Virtual Bryn Mawr page. When you click on the “self service” button, I feel like there used to be 3 icons things on the screen, but now I only have two: “Student center” and “Student admission.” Am I imagining things?

Mine has Student Center, Campus Finances, Campus Personal Information, and Student Admission. that is all under the tab when I click on self service at the side.
