Visit in the rain?

On our way to visit Tulane this week. I was counting on hot, but the forecast calls for thunderstorms. If they are more than the brief variety, are there any interesting places on campus or nearby to escape to? Is there a big student center or other central hang out spot? Thanks for any suggestions!

There’s the LBC, where the Barnes and Noble and food court are. Lots of tables to sit and watch people. Directly across from that is the new business building, with a large open area on the ground floor. Reilly, the rec center, is at the far end of campus, near the stadium, and you can spend some time wandering around there.

If you’re doing an official visit, ask about an umbrella when you check in. They may loan you a golf-type umbrella, which will give you a bit more coverage than a little folding one.

On our visit a torrential downpour occurred as our tour group was outside. As we all ran for cover, a random student yelled to us “Don’t let the rain deter you - It’s a great school!” My daughter loved it!

Thank you so much! The last school we visited on a cold, rainy day is my daughter’s current favorite so you never know!

New Orleans in the summertime = chance of thunderstorms. Generally, unless there is a big front moving through, the summer storms build throughout the day with the heat, so if you can plan your outside activities in the morning you may be able to stay dry from the rain (but not the humidity…that you can never escape in the summer).

Have a great visit…hope the weather holds for you!!!

@Musicmom2015 Assuming you have since visited…how did it go?
