Visitas-April Visiting Weekend (April 16-17)

This is a thread for all who are going to attend the visiting weekend in April. I think it'd be cool if we knew each other a little before so that we have friends going in. :)

as of right now, around 145 people have seen this thread and seethed with jealousy.

Including me.

LOL felix. No jealousy for me, just disappointment. And the disappointment was from back when likelies came out lol. But I always post in 2015 forums for good luck. :D

Haha, I’m sorry about that. But don’t be jealous or disappointed! There’s only three weeks and three days left till you find out! Continue to have hope!

jgedwards11, congratulations. I’m very happy for you. I also hate you, and I am currently sitting at my computer, burning with rage and jealousy, praying that I open my email on March 30th to see a “Congratulations!” But congrats anyway.

2CHiLLaXiN, you are too funny…we should date.

Hahahaha, 2CHiLLaXiN, that is hilarious. I hope you do get accepted, so I can already have an enemy going in lol.

A 2015 thread already! -Swoons-

THISISSOEXCITINGHARVARDRAWR!!1one!!!AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH

Okay. Now that I’ve gotten that out of my system…

Help! I really want to come to the visitors days but I live in London and I’m not sure if it would be worth a cross-altantic journey. I want to meet all of you guys though, as there’s a chance you’ll be a big part of my future. How weird is that?

Anyway, advice would be nice.

That would be so awesome if you could come Lizzie! If you’re not able to arrange for it, however, I’m sure members of CC (including myself) would be willing to personally welcome you another time so that you are still apart of the CC community. Other than that, I don’t have very much advice, but I hope all works out for you.

Wait, is it really the 16-17? I heard it was 17-19 =/

Yeah, I contacted someone from admissions to make sure since I was booking my flight and she said it was the Saturday and Sunday. I hope it’s right!

:( That’s prom weekend. What to do, what to do? (Assuming I get in, of course. And that’s probably a huge assumption.)

I know, that’s my prom, too. And I already have a pretty pricey dress. Hmm. Maybe I’ll just wear the dress to prefrosh weekend. =P
In all seriousness though, when I got my likely call I could have SWORN she said 17-19th. The 16th-17th would put me in an awful predicament. Also, I know last year’s was three days, and the 16th-17th would only be two…

Yeah, I’m not a 100% sure. I would contact the person who initially contacted you or the student that emailed you to make sure. I’ll do the same.

I called my admissions officer today. It’s the 16th-18th.

She said people tend to come and go as they can throughout the weekend, so if anyone is interested in going and has to come late or leave early it’s no big deal. Like I said, my prom is that weekend, so I’m thinking I’ll fly out Sunday morning and probably stay through Tuesday to have a free day in Boston. I can’t wait!!!

Unfortunately, that sounds like a great weekend for prefrosh weekends everywhere. It’s far enough from April 1 to book a flight but far enough from May 1 to have plenty of time to make a decision. I can imagine that will be a popular weekend this year… Who am I kidding though, I probably won’t get accepted to enough places to have to decide between multiple visiting weekends. =P

Thanks for the info aleader. I’ll update the thread name. Also, I hope that I’ll get to see you Sunday! And have faith in yourself. You got a likely from Harvard! I’m sure you’ll get accepted elsewhere. You should probably receive likelies from other colleges soon.

I hope so too! Maybe we can do coffee or meet up at one of the events. Ahh, this is all so exciting!

Haha, well, I got waitlisted at one of my matches/safeties yesterday. This process is so crazy that it’s hard to know what to expect. At any rate, I have trouble believing that there is anywhere I would choose over Harvard, so more acceptances or not, I am blessed to know I have at least one place I’ll be happy. In the end, we can only choose one school, so that’s really all that matters. =)

I’m planning on going!

@aleader Thanks for the info! You’re right, that seems to be the weekend so many colleges are choosing. With Yale’s Bulldog Days April 13th-15th, Coca-Cola Scholars Weekend 14th-17th, and Harvard’s Admit Weekend the 16th-18th, I will be so busy!

@jgedwards11 Is there a website or anything to register for it?
