I visited uconn in the spring but dont know what to think of it. It looked nice but my problem with it is thats its in the middle of nowhere and im one of those people that cant live far from civilization or il explode. Whats you guys opinions on this school and its weird location?

I’ve seen the campus during orientation and also went on a campus tour right after acceptance. Yes, it’s the middle of a large patch of greens. But with easy walking distances and bus routes, transportation is no problem. The most time you will ever spend walking on campus is 30min, from one end to the other. Getting out of town is also easy, with buses to downtown and charter buses to such cities like NYC and Boston. Charter buses, you have to pay to ride. Campus buses are paid for by using your HuskyCard, a sort of UConn ID card.

If you don’t have a car (most freshmen don’t) or you live far away in Conn, travel will be tough. Same goes for out-of-state people. On-campus events, I’ve heard, are plentiful…so don’t worry!

It’s not like there’s more than 16,000 students right on campus that are right around your age. Unless it’s important to you to shop at massive department stores and go to huge concerts every week (ie you live in a city), it’s not really a problem.
