Visited Wesleyan, thoughts...

Hi Wes forum, I posted a few days back with my son's creds, and some of you saw Wes as a good fit for him, others saw it as a major reach. First I want to thank you for your thoughts which helped us ground ourselves. I welcome further thoughts on that issue of course, sort of bumping my own thread.

But I also just want to comment that my son finally understands the notion of fit. Wesleyan is the perfect fit for him for so many reasons, which I will only go into if you are somehow interested. It was qualitatively different from other visits, including several at very fine places.

Anyway, he loved it, the students were just like him, and he is bubbling with excitement about making his best case through the application process. He knows it may be a reach, and I think he is just happy to let Wesleyan make that decision. But the process is so positive and I just wanted to report that.

That’s how I felt when I visited Wesleyan  I was just like, “Oh… oh, THIS is the kind of college I want to go to.” And I applied ED and had an amazing four years!

Good luck to your son! I wish him the best.

We are concerned about ED. His other top choice right now is William and Mary, which is in state and much less money. So ED at Wes involves major uncertainty regarding the contrasting financial situations.

But it is a nice feeling to be talked about possibilities rather than quartiles!
