Hi, I was wondering if anyone can tell me what they think the best way to visit Columbia from CT or any close state is? I was going to take the train, but someone told me driving was better, we'd find a spot on the street or could pay a parking lot. They reasoned it would would be closer and not as hurried and we'd have the freedom to leave when we wanted. I only drove in New York City once and it wasn't pleasant. Anyone that has any experience with the logistics of visiting and can offer any advice, I will appreciate it.

I'm from CT and I will be attending Columbia next year. Whenever I visited, I would drive to New Haven and take a train. It's so easy to take the train and then take the subway from Grand Central to Columbia, I recommend it. We rarely drive to NYC because we never feel its worth it.

Thanks, I will probably do that. Maybe not as flexible, but less stressful I think. My friend went to other colleges later, but I think Columbia and a nice lunch will be enough for one day.
