Visiting -- how much class to miss?

I know that at my school, seniors are allowed three days of excused absences for college visiting. I've decided to get them out of the way early in the year, and will be using my last one at Mount Holyoke on Monday, but I'm a little concerned about missing so much class so early in the year (college visits, orthodontist, etc). Anyway, do you find that your teachers are upset that you miss so much class for college visits? How many days does your school allow you, and how many do you plan on using?

(Of course, I can't get them out of the way when I have breaks...they're always opposite of pay weeks!)

Back in my HS days...we were permitted 14 absences per year...we could use them however we saw fit. I always found my teachers were more forgiving about college visits and dentist appointment than anything else.

Mine too, for the most part; I just can't help but feel guilty about missing class. =X 14 absences is a lot, though! If we have more than ten, there are severe repercussions.
