Visiting older siblings as a senior?

Soo I want to visit my brother at college...would it be weird if I just visited by myself and slept on the futon in his dorm room? And is there any way I'd be able to go to any parties or is that out of the question considering I'm 17/don't attend the college?
Yeah pretty simple q's but I didn't know where else to ask :-O

I’m sure you’d just tag along with your brother and do whatever he did. I don’t think you’d want to go anywhere without him, unless you knew someone going…

As to getting into parties, sure you can. I visited an older friend at her school a few years ago and we went to plenty of parties.

My sister came up at the end of her junior year. It was no big deal, nobody cares if you have a guest as long as your bro clears it with his roommate first since you’d be sleeping over.

I would not have taken her to any parties nor allowed her to go at her age. If anything were to happen, given that she is a minor my parents would be notified and they would have slaughtered me if that happened. When she is 18 she can come up and visit and do whatever the hell she wants. Until then, it is understood that if my parents give her permission to come up I am the responsible adult. Maybe your family is different, but in my family I’d be on the hook for her behavior. Maybe your brother doesn’t care. You’ll have to ask him.
