Visiting our son in November

What is the best way to get from La Guardia to Princeton? Thanks!

Will you be driving or taking the train?

That is what we are considering. We thought that traffic would be horrible, and the train might be a better decision. We arrive, at 4:30 p.m., on November 11, which is a holiday. What do you think? I’ve taken the train from JFK. However, I’ve never flown into La Guardia. Thanks for your help!

My parents visited me once for parents weekend and they too flew into La Guardia Airport. The problem with this airport is that if you drive, you could easily get clogged up in one of the tunnels or within Manhattan. Since it’s a holiday however, you should be fine.

Based on my parents epic 4 hour journey a few years ago, I would not recommend taking the train because it’s a hassle to take a bus, then the subway, then a train, and another train just to get to Princeton. Unless you’re staying at Nassau Inn, you’re going to need a taxi (15 dollars minimum) to get most of the nearby places. I’m assuming your son would also appreciate you having a car and hopefully taking him to Walmart to stock up.

Have a safe journey.

Agree there shouldn’t be traffic issues on a holiday. Just want to warn you can never predict the last 2 miles to the GW bridge. Still, a car is the way to do this- the area around Princeton is worth a look-see. Some stunning old historic areas.
Walmart- oh, we always have to make that trip on coll visits. Ha!

Thanks for the advice!
