I am visiting Boston with my family this weekend. I will be visiting Williams, Smith, and Amherst, among others. I have almost a 24-hour window between visiting Smith and Amherst to tour around the area, and I was hoping to get some suggestions of what to visit.

I've read a few threads similar to this but I'm afraid they may be outdated. Places to eat, landmarks to see, parks, etc. Any suggestions would be great!

Well, not exactly Boston–Williams is just over 3 hours west of Boston, and Smith and Amherst are about 2 hours west (although only 20 min away from each other!). The Berkshires (around Williams) are beautiful with many attractions–or you could take the 2 hour trip to Boston. If you let us know which way you are inclined, I’m sure lots of people could give suggestions.

The Clark Museum in Williamstown is outstanding as is the amazing MASS MOCA in North Adams, just up the road from Williamstown but just driving around the Berkshires is also great!

In Boston, if you haven’t been, definitely do the basic tourist stuff–Public Gardens, Boston Commons (are the swan boats running this time of year?), Faneuil hall, etc.
