visiting the campus next week (question)

hey guys,

im going on a trip to LA and i was plannin on visiting UCLA and seeing what the campus is like and just the overall atmosphere. I also kinda want to talk to admissions and here what they have to say (maybe a tour type thing) and talk to a bunch of students and everything.

but my question is this. Should I call ahead and like call admissions or something beforehand and tell them that im coming and like set up an appointment or should i just show up and just look around and walk in to the admissions.

im very very interested in UCLA and it is one of my top choices for school so i want to get a feel for what school is like and the whole nine yards.

thanks.

I also will be visiting USC and posted something similar in their section of the forum for visiting their school.

You should definitely come visit us. However, I want to warn you, next week is the first week of summer. My guess is that there won't be too many students wandering around campus so, it'll seem empty. The admissions office should still be open though and I'm sure you can walk in and ask questions. You may want to call to see who you should talk to that would help the most.

My daughter and I first visited UCLA last summer. She has since been admitted as a freshman for this fall. We called ahead (or did it online) and reserved a tour. I think there are usually 2 per day. It is led by a current student and you see most of the campus and also get lots of info on admissions, etc. I am pretty sure it is best to have this arranged in advance. Check the UCLA website for prospective students and look for info/links for visiting and tours.
