I realize most of you are probably undergrads but, I was wondering if you could help me out. I'll be starting as a grad student at UCI in the fall and was assigned a spot in Vista Del Campo housing. However, other than what's on their website I know nothing about the specifics of the community. Like how far a walk is it from say the science buildings? Or what type of beds are in the rooms (I'm assuming a twin? but, is it extra long, regular?) Is there a graduate section and an undergraduate section? Or are they all dispersed evenly throughout the community? And what's the typical noise level? Frat house party loud or library quiet?

Anyway, thanks in advance for any help!!

In general, VDC is ~25-30 minute walk to the science buildings. There is a shuttle that runs from VDC or VDC norte to the University Center bridge, so you'll still have to walk to class which might take ~10 minutes to the science area. I haven't lived in VDC, but the noise level should be somewhat better in the graduate community as there might be less parties. It's not really "separated", but it's like a long line of buildings where all the undergraduates are clustered together and the graduates are clustered together. I have no clue what the bed size is (i think just regular twin) but yeah, hopefully someone else might be more helpful.

VDC-Norte has XL twins, but I think VDC may have double beds... at least they look larger than twin in the floor plans on their website.

MaMoose, that's why I was asking. They look like could be full beds or something but, in all my experience with on-campus housing it's always been a twin...

Thanks to both of you!!!

VDC has full (extra long) beds, but regular full bedsheets fit.
