Vocal Performance Opportunities for non-majors

I’m a future applicant to BU for both film and political science, but I’m also a music nerd…especially for choir. Will I be able to take lessons even as a non-major? And are the vocal ensembles particularly difficult to get into? Are there any madrigal ensembles, especially?

Thanks for all your input.

This is the site for the Boston University Music Organizations. These ensembles are for students who are not music majors. To my knowledge, the ensembles in the music program are for majors only. If you wanted to take private voice lessons, you would have to arrange that and pay for it as a separate fee. I'm not sure if the voice teachers in the College of Fine Arts take students who are not majors or not. Give a call to the College of Fine Arts and ask them. I suspect, again, that this may be difficult to arrange. The students in the CFA ensembles and who take private lessons have auditioned for entrance into the music programs.
