Any suggestions for a senior recital gift for a college vocal coach and voice teacher? I would love to thank them and honor them for all of their help and support they have given to my D over the last 4 years, but I really do not know what an appropriate gift would be.

We went onto Amazon and found some lovely necklaces with musical note/heart charms. It was perfect!

Music teachers are usually drowning in “themed” items so it might be better to look in another direction, especially at this level. How about something like a Vera Bradley bag or tote? You can pick a new pattern or find some terrific “vintage” prints on new items on eBay. Gift certificates for massages and spas are great, IF you know a place/person that the teacher uses (most voice teachers have a favorite). A cashmere wrap is also a very nice gift for a voice teacher and can be used in the studio, while performing or for an evening out ( I found a lovely one with a ruffled edge so it can be used plain or fancier side up,on QVC). PM me if you’d like any specific sites!

If they like Broadway shows how about a gift certificate to Broadway.com to put towards a show at their convenience. I agree that it’s hokey to do a theme gift. I just give ours a cash gift to use towards whatever she prefers and she always appreciates it.

As a “regular education” teacher I’ve been thrilled a couple times in my career to receive a certificate for a massage! So awesome. I think that voice teachers that have a lot of students have to be really physical and would enjoy some of that pampering.

Thanks for the great suggestions!
