Hi! I’ll be entering my junior year of High School next year and I’m not entirely sure what I should do for this summer. I’m very interested in International Relations and gender equality…
I can either do two weeks of volunteer work at an organization that assists women and then 3 weeks after with a week at Georgetown studying International Relations (that is if I get in) then 2 weeks at Brown’s leadership program labeled Women and Leadership (again this is if I get in). I like this option because it allows me to expand my knowledge on all the things I find interesting while at the same time allowing me to volunteer within my community for a cause I hold dear. But obviously pre-college programs are expensive and I don’t know if 2 will be easy to pull off. Then again I can spend my summer volunteering at this organization with maybe one of the programs like the International Relations one, or just volunteering period?
I really like all the opportunities that I came across for me to be a part of this summer but there are many factors that are making it hard for me to decide what’s best to do. Costs, what looks better for my future endeavors, what will allow me to learn the most, etc. If anyone could give their two sense on this I would appreciate it so much, even if maybe you know of a better program that I could look into! Thank you!
