Volunteering for film festivals - good E.C supplement?

I did nothing in freshman year, and now I feel like I should start pursuing activities geared towards my desired major.

I've called several film festivals within SoCal, and nearly all have welcomed me. I called the production company that assists with the Spirit Awards, and it looks like I'll get a spot in promotion or basic volunteering.

How do colleges view these things? My school offers no clubs, school sponsored, e.c, hell we don't even have AP or school lunches.

I intend on applying to UCLA, UCSD, UCI, USC, Pepperdine, Brown, Northwestern, UCB (unlikely yes), and Chapman.

I know many of these colleges are obligated to accept x number of academically middle students, and I want to go in there.

Oh yeah, I want to major in film productions/directing/studies/cinematography.

3.83GPA (unsure how it's going to be weighted)
Sp 1, History/H, English/H, Environmental Science (keystone), Algebra 1, and ASB.
Student Body cabinet Member
20 hours+ school-related volunteering
Personal relations with several teachers, some of which have recognized me at honor awards
Winner of the San Diego library essay contest (though I lost the certificate)
Legacy at: UCI, Northwestern, UPenn, Brown, Yale, Harvard, and Swarthmore.

Suggestions people?! I'm taking the PSATs in december so hopefully that will give me an idea of how much I need to improve my math.

I'm a sophomore fyi.

Question: Do I to keep track of each and every hour I volunteer? Wouldn't it be better to say, I was active in the Sundance Film Festival between the dates of June 5 to June 13?

I'm really concerned about this!

I haven't been really paying much attention or keeping track of hours.

Question #2: Is Leadership and G-E UC-approved class? It only includes the student body, and it is associated with school-activities and research assignments!

bump..............

come on............

Can you take any ROP or Community Services class in film. They give you hands-on experience. There are several summer programs that are geared toward film making like the ones from NYU. They sent D a brochure. I think the program is 8-week long. NYU has acting class also. Check them out. That would at least get your feet wet in the film industry.
