VPA Requirements for UCLA and other UCs

Would ART HISTORY fulfill the VPA (Visual Preforming Arts) requirement for admissions into UCLA/UC Schools?

What are some secrets to getting into UCLA?

[University of California - a-g Guide](http://www.ucop.edu/a-gGuide/ag/a-g/vpa.html)

Specifically, the VPA requirement.

The VPA Requirement simply states that one must complete a Visual or Preforming Art before graduation.

My question: Would Art History fulfill that requirement?

Most VPAs are band, drawing, painting, ect…

Yes it does.

I satisfied my VPA requirement with Art History class at community college.

Great! Thank you, I’ve done the same.

At the community college…did you have to take two semesters, confidentiality, or just one semester?

Since it’s an actual college level class, I’m wondering if one semester would be sufficient?

Just one semester satisfies the entire year of VPA requirement.

1 semester of community college is 10 high school credits. So you don’t have to worry about it. =)

yeaaaa!!! out of curiosity, where did you take yours?

Los Angeles City College

I will be a freshman at UCLA in the fall and I am still taking classes at LACC. It’s a great way to get rid of your lower division requirements.

Also, that art class you took will probably satisfy one of UCLA’s GE requirements. So you are knocking out three requirements (HS graduation, UCLA GE, and UC systemwide VPA req) with one semester class. It’s awesome.

Awesome! I’m taking a few other “random” classes at my comm college…so hopefully Ill knock some more GEs out…

For UCLA: Can I get AP credit + Comm College credit. meaning, can i get the max number of credits for Aps and still add comm college credit…OR, is there a limit on the number of credits i can get from comm college and aps combined?

Does my Art History class need to show up on my high school transcript, OR can I attach a College Transcript?
