vt social life

i have a couple quick questions about the social life at vt. everything ive heard about the academics is perfect.
is there often good live music during the weekends on/off campus?
beside drinking is herb or anyother psychadelics easily found and used by others or is there not much of a stoner population?
is the student population diverse enough where theres a group for everyone but everyone as a whole gets along together and supportive?
are there ski/snow slopes close enough to get to?(i know they get alot of snow and have mountains)
and finally can freshmen bring cars?

hahh i was wondering those exact same questions.

if anybody could answer those i'd appreciate itttt

There is quite often good live music at the bars around...join the facebook group and you'll have plenty of choices to look out for

Not much of a stoner population (especially coming from vermont). you can find it, though not as easily as would be nice. and just remember, one drug violation and you're out (3 with alcohol, i believe)

again, coming from vermont, the student pop. is very diverse. Only like 75 percent white or something, which is rpetty good for swva. it is pretty segregated though.

again, from vermont, skiing sucks, but.....
winterplace, 1 hr 15 mins 600 vert
wintergreen, 2 hr 30 mins 1k vert

those are the only ones i went to this year.

frosh can have a car.

And by the way, i'm transferring next year but if you can deal with not skiing and being in the middle of nowehre this place is pretty sweet.

Massanutten Ski Resort about 2 1/2 hrs north, 1,110 vert, right near James Madison U.
