Vt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am applying as transfer into Virginia Tech's engineering school and was wondering what my chances of getting in were. I also would like to find out how much importance does your high school transcript carry.

I have completed one semester of college with a 3.8 GPA.
Courses taken: Calculus, English, Psychology, Chemistry
2nd semester intended courses: Calculus 2, English 2, Art history, Government, Chem for engineers

Ec's: American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Habitat for Humanity, Started an organization to educated unprivileged kids in third-world countries.

High School record sucks.
1920 SAT's

OOS.
Intended major: ME
Backup: physics

Race: Asian(Pakistani)

Anyone who helps me out is amazing!

With a 3.8 GPA? I’d say pretty good; however, Tech engineering uses the first year to weed out the ones they don’t believe fit into the system so that could come into play. Good luck! Go Hokies!

Thanks! Not sure if I get the weeding out part though.

They like to give the engineering students the toughest classes (like 5 hour calculus) as freshman in hopes of determining the most dedicated students and finding the less focused one. What I was saying is that I’m not sure whether they’d let a student who skipped that into the program as easily.
