has anyone gone on one of these all day preview to vanderbilt days. how were they.. was it worth it... any other details would be appreciated!

I went and I loved it. Now, bear in mind that I live close by, so the travel was not an issue, but I definitely thought it was worth it. Very informative and it will give you a good feel for Vanderbilt. Afterwords you can have lunch there etc. Very nice. You can also go to the "New College Vists" section of CC and look up other opinions on Vanderbilt campus visits. GL!

We went in June 05. It was very organized, friendly and well worth the trip. The admissions office spoke to all of us at the same time but I think they separate parents and students now. John Gaines spoke for the admissions office and pretty much gave an outline of how to apply and what they are looking for in a student which was very helpful for the application. One of the deans of A&S spoke about the college and he was quite interesting. PreVU is more informative than a regular info session and tour but Vanderbilt probably does a very good job with a basic info session and tour too. If you go, you can catch a flight back home by 5 or so, you don't need to stay all day and the airport is about 20 minutes from the campus. There are several hotels within walking distance of the campus.

they look interesting from a current student's perspective. I live int he dorm connecting tot he student life center and there is always a lot of hooplah surrounding those days.
