W in Freshman Composition at CC

Im planning to transfer to a four year university then go to medical school.
Im planning to drop English, the workload is TOO much/unbearable. And Im afraid that if I dont drop this class sooner, my other classes (calculus II, psychology, and introduction to anatomy and physiology) will be affected. Ive been spending so much time on the english homework that i've neglected the other workload for my other classes. I hate giving up, I really do. So I dont know if I should drop the class. Will it look bad if I have a W on my transcript to med schools?

*this is my first semester of college

OP, Do you work full time?

nope, only part time on the weekends.

Unless you are failing Eng/W, with no chance of redemption, I would consider dropping A&P instead. English/W is probably one of the most important Intro classes that you will take in college. Getting the basics down now will make the rest of your 4 years much more enjoyable. Learning to write well will make it not only make it easier to complete the rest of your GEs/distribution requirements (history, lit, etc), but also to ace science lab write-ups, which at a four-year Uni, are graded harshly.
