W On Transcript Question

Ok here is my situation, I need to drop two classses tomorrow ( for personal issues) I plan on retakin them though. Will the W's be replaced on my transcript with the new grade, or will they stay on there forever. Also how bad is it to have 2 w's on the transcript.

The W's will stay permanently. You get no GPA units nor credits for a W, but these can be replaced by a retake if you pass or get a passing grade. Getting W's on first tries are ok to a point (unless you have a large amount of 'em). Just don't repeat several times.

two or three W's won't hurt if your gpa is high.

Ditto to Kevin.

So even after you retake the course and get a good grade, the W from the initial drop will still be on transcript right?

no.

The W will remain. In fact, my CC has a record of classes I have dropped without w's. Of course, those will not matter in my admission process.

thanks a lot guys
