W on Transcript?

<p>So, I was told today by a professor that because I was missing 3 classes because of grad school interviews, that he would fail me (attendance based class) if I didn't withdraw.</p>

<p>Unfortunately, after emailing him the days that I would miss before the drop/add date and he telling me this after drop/add date, I'm likely going to have to take a W on my transcript.</p>

<p>It's not a required course, but I suppose I'm still nervous because it's a mark on my transcript as I'm going into my last semester. </p>

<p>Any advice? I've emailed the Dean, but I won't be able to meet with her before tomorrow. I just think it's sort of bogus, but... :(</p>

<p>I knew someone with 2 quarters worth of all W’s and got into a few PhD programs. You should be fine.</p>

<p>In my experience, deadlines are just a formality, and people with sufficient privileges (i.e. the Dean) can always override them later as long as you have a good reason…</p>
