I just recently visited Choate, Taft, and Loomis. All three were great schools. If anybody has any questions about the interview they give then just post it here.

Hey, I go to Choate and I'm a freshman if you have any questions about it. :) It's a great school.

I'm curious as to what type of questions are asked at the Choate interview, and also how long it takes, approximately.

yeah, like alpha1 it would be great if you could help me with choate interview questions. good luck!

Oh perfect!! Tell me about Loomis!

Sorry i'm late on answering but
Choate: This is generally one of the longer interviews. The first question is "ok tell me your life story." elaborate on that question. EX. where you were born, what school you attend, family members, etc. Do not give your ECs, fave subject, etc2. They'll ask you that later. I had a very good interviewer. If you get her (i can't mention names or i'll be scolded by the board,) end with a bit of comedy. She had a bowl of chocolate behind her. I asked some serious questions at the end but finished with asking her for some chocolate.

Loomis: This interview was a bit shorter than usual. The couches aren't as comfy (big negative). It was my first interview so i felt a bit more nervous. Read above about Choate (minus the chocolate part.)

Good luck. You won't need it though.

You asked her for chocolate?

I wonder how they went over

oh, can you tell me more about Loomis and Taft, I am going to have interviews with these schools in two weeks ( questions they ask, what do you ask them? and what to wear?)

I'm a guy so i can't really answer for what you should wear. Wear something repectable. Khaki's and a blouse is fine (i think)

Loomis asked a lot of easy quetions. Some things were
about your EC, fave subject, family, friends, and etc. Same for Taft. One thing i have to tell you though. You of course want to display your skills but
DO NOT BE COCKY. This will not go down well with any admissions officer. They look for smart kids but not kids that will go around going "I got an 800 on my math SSAT's. HAHA I bet you didn't." Ya it's great that you got an 800. Definetlely tell the ad. of. that. If you scored 20 goals in 10 games last season that's great, but leave it out unless you feel really comfortable. It's fine to say I am a well accomplished soccer player and am able to score some goals.

The chocolate joke went down great. She started laughing.

thanks, helpful tips.
By the way, is there a higher chance to get into the school if you have a face-to-face interview with the school's rep or a phone interview will do just fine? ( because I was planning to go to Bangkok to have interviews with The Hill school and NMH; however, some financial problems came up and now I have to seriously consider the advantages of face-to-face interview)
